A few months ago, the Supreme Court struck down the federal ban on corporations airing campaign ads (or anything mentioning a candidate’s name, including an ad that suggests asking him to do something). The powers that be started pushing a bill, DISCLOSE, which would make these now-lawful ad expenditures a bit more burdensome.

DC voting "rights" bill

The WashPo is publishing the thoughts of six spokesmen, relating to the proposal to (a) give DC a seat in the House; (b) offset this Demo seat by giving Utah an extra, likely Republican, seat and (c) attach a rider rolling back most of DC’s onerous gun restrictions. What I find appalling in the commentaries is that only Bob Levy deals with the problem that (a) and (b) are clearly unconstitutional

Medicinal marihuana and GCA 68

From an email making the rounds: “Nevada has just started adding the names of those who have a lawfully obtained medical marijuana card to the “do not purchase” list. You are now denied if you try to purchase a firearm in Nevada (from an FFL). They don’t come out to your house and take your already purchased guns (not yet anyway) but the do not allow any new purchases.

ATF agent sues agency, and it sues him

Some interesting developments over at Clean Up ATF . An agent had infiltrated the Hell’s Angels and Aryan Brotherhood, they managed to find out where he lived, and he and his family got credible violent threats. The agency agreed to put him in the LEOs’ version of witness protection and kept screwing up.
